OpenRouter

Explicit free model routes with no visitor model downloads. The free router chooses from available free models; it does not guarantee the strongest model.

  1. Create an account and open Keys.
  2. Create a key; keep it on your server only.
  3. Use openrouter/free or an explicit :free model. Stop when quota is exhausted.

Free accounts currently allow 50 free-model requests per day. One agent task can use several requests.

Renewable free credits

Bytez

The free plan supports open models up to 7B parameters, one concurrent open-model request and credits refreshed every four weeks. Usage consumes credits; this is not unlimited inference.

  1. Register on Bytez and open its API dashboard.
  2. Create an API key and select an eligible open model.
  3. Keep auto-reload and auto-scaling disabled; stop at the free balance limit.

Developer evaluation

NVIDIA NIM

NVIDIA offers free serverless API access for development. Account limits and technology terms apply. Treat this as developer access, not a free production hosting guarantee.

  1. Join the NVIDIA Developer Program.
  2. Select a model in the API catalog and choose Get API Key.
  3. Check your account allowance and permitted use before integration.

How the website assistant connects

The site owner configures OpenRouter privately on the server. Visitors enable hosted AI and approve sharing their request and visible public-page context. The existing navigation, reading, form actions and approval controls remain available. No API key is exposed to the browser and no model is downloaded.

Without owner configuration, the assistant provides its public service directory and basic website help. This page does not issue or store API keys. Never paste secrets into chat or public source code.
